SPACES

Spaces that work for whatever you’ve got planned.

Head upstairs, out to the balcony, or into one of the quieter corners – there are a few different ways to do functions at The North Star.

Some suit bigger celebrations.
Some keep things a bit more contained.

Different setups, same idea – a good night without overcomplicating it.

Soldiers Lounge & Balcony

Head upstairs and you’ll find this one – set in the original part of the building, with its own bar and a balcony that tends to get a fair workout once the night gets going.

This is where bigger celebrations usually land – birthdays, engagements, the kind of nights that start with one plan and end… a little differently (in the best possible way).

  • Fits up to 90 seated/120 cocktail

  • Private bar

  • TV/Spotify

  • Balcony access

  • Wheelchair accessible (with a small step onto the balcony)

Garden Bar & Terrace

A newer addition to the venue – lighter, more open, and a bit more flexible depending on how you want things to run.

It works just as well for a long lunch or baby shower as it does for an engagement or anniversary – the kind of thing where no one wants to feel boxed in.

Inside opens straight onto the terrace, so the night can stretch a bit.

Hunters Lounge

Good for groups that want their own space without needing to fill a whole room – seated catch-ups, smaller celebrations, or anything where you actually want to hear each other speak.

Smaller, more contained, and easy to settle into from the start.

Named after Australian screen legend Bill Hunter – who stayed at The North Star when his parents held the licence – it’s a space with a bit of history behind it, without making a big deal of it.
